Where has the time gone?

Time flies when your having fun! Well, it may have more to do with a toddler, being pregnant and having a few full-time jobs! Sorry it's been so long since I've been able to post anything. It really has been a crazy spring and I'm usually too exhausted to do anything but lay on the couch at the end of the day.

But enough complaining, life is good. Adrian is growing like a weed and so am I. July will be here before you know it and I will have a sweet little boy to bring home! I've had a few little get-togethers to celebrate the new baby. My sweet girlfriends invited me out to Milton's Restaurant in historic Crabapple (fyi - the best hot pimento cheese dip). I got a lot of lovely gifts, including the Madras bedding I've been vying for from Pottery Barn Kids (thanks, Mimi & Leslie). Last week we headed down to Tampa for my mother's retirement party. Despite the fact that it was her weekend, she and my bff Katherine threw a brunch at Lowry Park. It was a lot of fun to see some family and friends., especially my brother.

The gifts are piling up in my bedroom. It's starting to make me a little anxious... he'll be here before I know it. Come to think of it, I should probably be organizing baby clothes instead of bloging! I better run! Love, Jess

Flurries in February

Can you believe it? The weather men were actually right! It snowed in Atlanta yesterday and it is beautiful. We're home-bound for the day until the ice melts, but not it's so bad to be forced to slow down for a day.In other news, I am just over 4 months along with our second child. So far everything is going well. We'll find out on March 2 whether we are having a boy or girl. What's your guess??

Holy Holidays, Batman!

Happy New Year, everyone! I hope this season has been as fun-filled for ya'll as it has for us. The holidays have kept us very busy, so I've got a lot of ground to cover! Thanksgiving was spent at home with family. Ben fried up a turkey and we ate way too much (this theme continues throughout the holidays). Mid December we headed to South Carolina to see Ben's grandmother at the Smith Family Christmas. Adrian enjoyed meeting her extended family.

My parents and Ben's mom came to celebrate Christmas with us. My mom and I took Adrian to see Santa on Christmas eve (not something I recommend, by the way). After a 2 hour wait in line, Adrian decided she was not sitting in Santa's lap. Unfortunately she didn't have a choice. You can see the result in our blog title. Call me mean, but I think it was worth every minute!

Besides the Santa incident Adrian thouroughly enjoyed herself! She played with each new gift that was unwrapped.

We also got to visit with Ben's cousins, Maggie and Katie, along with my Aunts, Uncles and cousin. I feel very blessed that we got to share the holidays with so much family.

New Year's eve we spent with many of our close friends here in Atlanta. We were out numbered by our children, but miraculously the kids eventually fell asleep and we stayed awake long enough to see the ball drop! Here's to a good year and a great decade!

Tricks & Treats

Halloween was so much fun this year! We carved a BIG pumpkin, while Adrian ate the inards! Maybe I shouldn't have let her do that, but I figured it would give her a little extra fiber. If you are impressed with our professional looking jack-o-lantern, let Ben know, he spent more than the appropriate amount of time designing it's ghoulish face!

It was a rainy October 31st here in Atlanta, so we headed to our neigborhood Publix. They were hosting a trick-or-treat. Adrian wasn't as interested in the candy as she was running all over the store. She was so cute, no one really cared.

Sweet Baby of Mine

Adrian is on the move! She learned how to walk a few weeks ago and now you can't stop her. She actually tried to climb UP the slide yesterday! Movement is king.
We had a pretty big event this weekend. Adrian was dedicated along with her cousin, Jack-Davis. It is very exciting for us, as we are putting our faith on the table. Will we rise to the occasion? By God's grace, we hope to instill love, generosity, integrity, respect and duty to our child. Now will someone tell me how to do that? I know, we've got a life time of growing to do. I'm counting on all of you to help us along the way!

Toddlering

Someone should have warned me that my sweet little baby would develop an opinion overnight! Apparently for her birthday, someone gave her some sass! Don't get me wrong, I'm having fun, but boy is she wearing me out. God forbid I don't let her climb the stairs or try to brush her hair. She will have none of it! I miss the days where she stayed where ever I put her or played with whatever I gave her. I know Adrian is growing up and I must embrace it, but is it a crime to wish she'd stay my baby for a little longer? Time is just flying past me. Before I know it, she'll be behind a steering wheel... oh wait, she already is!!!Katherine comes to visit! Just in time for my first molar!

If you don't give me that Animal Cracker, I will hold my breath!...1...2...3

Look Who Turned 1

I can't believe my baby is one year old! Wasn't it just yesterday that I was coming home from the hospital scared to death because I didn't know what to do? Despite my fears, Adrian did just fine. If her first birthday was any indication of toddlerhood, we should be in for a lot of fun. Check out the pictures from her big bash:
