Out like a lion!

By the length between posts, you can tell we've been busy. March has been quite a month and ended with a Bang. By "Bang" I mean Adrian managed to catch the flu, giving her parents more than a few sleepless nights!

Earlier this month we made a trip to Dillon, SC. Ben's grandfather, Gentry Arnette, passed away on March 3. He was a great man who lived an extra-ordinary life. I'm glad that he got to meet Adrian last Fall. I'm also thankful she and her cousins were able to attend his funeral. They were certainly a bright spot for everyone. During the funeral, Adrian was very passionate about the minister's message and shouted her, "Hallelujahs" (in a small Mosoleum, mind you)! I was embarassed, but was assured by all who knew Mr. Arnette that he would have loved it! I'm sure she was just saying her good-byes the only way she knew how.

Adrian is starting to scoot around and I think I see a little toothbud starting to show itself. I have no doubt that April is going to be a much better month. Spring is starting to show its colors and Adrian continues to discover who she is and what she can do. In a few weeks, we will be heading to Amelia Island to see my family, including my long lost brother, both of my grandmothers, my parents and my aunt, uncle and cousin! I am looking forward to it. I'll be sure to post pictures of Adrian's first encounter with the beach. Have a wonderful Easter!

Happy 1/2 Birthday!

Adrian is 6 months old now, I can't believe it! Every day is a new adventure for us. She is growing by leaps and bounds. Adrian is eating solid foods now. She's also starting to sit up! Ben and I are feverishly trying to babyproof before she discovers her feet. Last weekend we took a family trip down to the Atlanta High Museum. Adrian thought that everyone was being way too quiet so she started to babble at the top of her lungs. I think she enjoyed hearing her voice echo off the walls. It was really cute to us, but I'm sure the other guests weren't all that impressed. I'll keep you updated as she continues to reach new mile stones. Happy New Year

Christmas did not disappoint! Grammy and Grandpa flew up from Tampa to celebrate with us. Santa was in town, so Mom and Grammy took me to see him. He seemed like a very nice man, but I'm not sure what I think about him yet...

After all the presents, we had a big family Christmas dinner. By the end of the day I was wore out. Sorry, cousin Jack-Davis. I didn't mean to take it out on you!

New Year's Eve was spent with Dad's Citadel classmate, Jason and his girlfriend, Lindsey. Mom and Dad didn't let me stay up until midnight, though! Mom says this year will bring a lot more fun and excitement. I'm looking forward to it!

My First Thanksgiving

I didn't get to eat the turkey, but I sure did have a blast! Mimi came early so that Mom and Dad could run in the annual Atlanta Half-Marathon on Thanksgiving morning. They came home wearing giant metals so I guess they did good. Once they got home, Daddy started frying up a GIANT turkey. It was bigger than me! My Aunt Susan and Uncle Mike came over from Appling, GA. Then my Aunt Linda and Uncle Bill came by! It was fun seeing all their happy faces. I can't wait until next year... maybe then I can eat some of the pumpkin pie.

Now I'm gearing up for my First Christmas. I don't know what it's all about yet, but it must be fun because there is a giant sparkly tree set up in the living room. I'm working on being able to sit up on my own so that I can get a better view of all the presents.

Well, I gotta run, it's time to go shopping with Mommy. Merry Christmas!!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

I know, I'm adorable.

I spent my first Halloween at my Mimi's house. I really wanted to go trick-or-treating so I could get some chocolate for mommy, but I was feeling a bit under the weather, so I had to stay inside. Oh well, better luck next year. I'll have to start thinking of my next costume...

The reason we were at Mimi's house is because she was having a retirement party. I don't know what that means, but it sounds like I'll probably get to see her more, so I'm excited about that.

Mommy told me I needed to tell you guys what new things I've learned this month. So let's see... I have discovered that kicking my legs and blowing bubbles are very entertaining. I'm working on sitting up so I can see the t.v. better, but I'll have to keep exercising my ab muscles because I'm not quite there yet. Oh, and Mommy is very excited because I officially sleep through the night now. What can I say, I need my beauty sleep! Well, I love you all, but it's time for me to go. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Back to Work!

Well, Mommy went back to work a few weeks ago and I started a new adventure... day care! I was a little nervous at first because Mommy was freaking out, but it turns out it's not so bad. I don't know what she was so worried about. I have new friends to drool on and lots of interesting things to see and hear. And just about the time I start to miss her, she shows up to visit me! Every day she comes by to feed me and gossip with Ms. Krystal. Mommy says that she thinks we're gonna make it!

Other things I've been up to this month include going to see Mommy do her first race, the Rowdy Ralph 5k. Daddy and I cheered her on as she crossed the finish line. Can you believe it, she even got a red ribbon! I can't wait until I can run with her. I guess I have to master rolling over first... Well, Mommy's telling me to wrap things up, so I better go. All in the Family

Boy, am I exhausted! I've spent the last couple weeks meeting a lot of new family members. First, Mom and Dad took me on a trip to Dillon, SC to meet my Great-Grandparents, Granny and Papa Arnette. It was several hours in the car, but it was worth it because they were lots of fun. Mimi came along as well, so that made the time fly by. I also got to meet my Great-Aunt Susan and all of her wild pets.

This past week my Uncle Casey came all the way from California to see me and my Great-Memaw flew up from Florida. I was so excited I could hardly sit still. If that wasn't enough, Grammy and Grandpa came, too. We had a super-fun time together. All the girls went and had our pictures taken one day. We even went to a Chili Cook-Off! By the end of the weekend, I was pretty worn out, so I may have been a little crankier than normal. I hope no one will take it personal, I loved having everyone around.

Well, next week Mommy goes back to work. I will really miss her, but I'm excited to make new friends. Wish us luck on this new adventure! XOXO - Adrian
